VATICAN RECORDS · INDIA

Miracles named in official canonization records.

This is a deliberately small list. It includes only healings described in official Vatican biographies or canonization records; personal testimonies and unverified local claims are not presented as approved miracles.

ST ALPHONSA · 2008

An instantaneous cure during a novena

The Vatican biography of St Alphonsa describes the miraculous and instantaneous cure of a seriously ill child after a novena invoking Fr Kuriakose Elias Chavara. The Holy See record connects this cure with her canonization cause.

ST MARIAM THRESIA · 2000

A medically inexplicable healing

The Vatican record says Mathew Pellissery’s left foot straightened overnight after prayer and fasting. Doctors in India and Italy described the cure as medically inexplicable; the Congregation for the Causes of Saints approved it in 2000.

A note of care. A canonization miracle is a formal Church judgment within a cause. It is not a promise that every illness will be healed, and it does not certify every story shared in local devotion.
